Hello, it's me.
Just thought I had to mention this, as I've received an e-mail from my old boss. As some of you know, I did a tour of Canada and the US in 1993 as a sound engineer, paid for by Sony blood, and our American driver, Bob Butler, attempted to kill us by conducting wild experiments into male multi-tasking, AKA sleeping whilst driving.
In 1995 he came over to the UK to play a short tour supporting Killdozer - ask your ugly cousin/uncle about them - with my old boss and myself playing bass and drums respectively, as the band Brain Police. We had a brilliant time up and down motorways, being reviewed by dodgy metal mags and ended our jaunt with a 12-hour recording session in Nottingham (8pm-8am), playing Bob’s new songs in one take with a single overdub in the dark for Bob’s extra vocals and guitar.
Then I lost touch with Bobby.
I thought he could be dead, because, well, he was old enough to know better but clearly drew willies over that part of his text book.
He’s not dead. He’s here.
Also: a while back I mentioned to AB that I had a cassette of our session and that nothing had happened to the proposed album, as the record label ended and Bob kinda disappeared. So, I resampled the crappy old cassettes and cleaned them up.
This stuff is very different to the music I compose or co-create myself, but it gives you a listeny to DAT hitting the skins. I apologise for the poor stereo-spread, I had nothing to do with the actual recording or production.
