Those of us that burned the midnight oil were greatly rewarded when Mr. Doctorow stepped into Second Life for his second visit. After a little account snafu, he showed up in the proverbial “white shirt” default avatar.

Roughly ten people showed up throughout the evening to greet Mr. Doctorow - a far more focused group than his last visit (http://secondlife.blogs.com/nwn/2005/07/index.html). This was due in part to the event being hosted at so ackward a time; 11 AM UTC, which meant most American users were not able to attend.
Regardless, many people did come, and a positive experience was had by all. Discussion topics included the original intent (novel writing for NaNoWriMo), podcasts, splogs, and DRM.

For those unable to attend, the chatlog is available here (http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=69905).
